The Crabby Shopper (for August E.)
There once was a crabby holiday shopper. Each Christmas he would shop only on the day before and he would be crabby about so many things.
Usually what set him off was the traffic on the way to the stores. (All of this young reader would have been avoidable. Even if one does wait until late to shop one can go early, early in the morning or late at night). Once he entered the store, Crabby Shopper would be upset that the item he wanted was out of stock, or it was only in the wrong size, or the upgrade was already sold out. Then he would be mad at the line. Then at the line in the parking lot. Then the traffic. And then the happy faces on all of the people in his home. It was only in the quiet of Christmas Eve night that he really loved the holiday. After all was unwrapped and eaten and thought about, he would promise himself that it would all be different in the following year. But it never was.
