Mistranslations
The mistranslation exists everywhere a text exists. The poems that Hugo has been mistranslating recently come from Finland and Japan. In part, the difference between these two languages and the Indo-European languages creates the potential to find more divergent meanings in the translations. In his work, he credits the source of the original material but he makes no claim that what he presents as a translation has anything at all to do with intention of that original text.
